Edit 10 is dedicated to look 9 from Chanel’s Spring Summer 1993 collection, worn by model Kirsten McMenamy. At its centre is a sand-coloured tweed jacket, made iconic by the way it was styled on the runway: with the famous SS93 white men’s briefs reinvented by Lagerfeld for that season, and oversized black sunglasses with bold CC logos.

The jacket travelled thousands of kilometres to be pictured in Marfa, a remote West Texas town shaped by Donald Judd and surrounded by faded yellows, sand and dry desert tones. It was photographed among Judd’s 15 untitled works in concrete, and alongside the simple wooden furniture he became known for.

Edit 09 is served. A pre-fall selection of Chanel jackets in contrasting dark and light shades, marking the transition from summer into fall. Served with flowers of the season.

'The Traveler' is a photography series that started with the launch of KERN1 in 2018. The idea was simple: to see how differently the same Chanel jacket could be interpreted through someone else’s eyes. The first stop for the 2026 edition of The Traveler was A Day in Khaki, a guesthouse in Kyoto set in a beautifully restored 120-year-old machiya, once an embroidery factory.

Edit 04 is a small study in texture. Two Chanel jackets, one houndstooth, one checked tweed, brought together in dialogue. A reflection on the house’s lasting interest in pattern and contrast.

For edit 03, Chanel jackets are placed within interiors and objects designed by French mid-century architect and designer Charlotte Perriand. Perriand approached design as inseparable from life, shaping environments around movement, function, and the realities of daily living. A similar logic underpins the work of Coco Chanel. For both design is a framework for living, a structure that supports the person within it.
