25139 Jacket 40 EU Spring Summer 1986 Camel France
|
An early 80s Chanel jacket in camel, from one of the first collections by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. Interpreted in a kimono silhouette, the jacket is cut with drop shoulders and a more relaxed, slightly oversized fit. It falls open at the front. The collarless neckline remains true to the house’s codes, while the softer structure gives it an ease distinct to this period.
The design features four pockets and is finished with wheat-engraved gilt buttons at the cuffs, a subtle reference to Coco Chanel’s lucky charm. The wheat motif appears across early Lagerfeld collections as a recurring symbol of prosperity and luck, and has reappeared in the house’s visual language in the first collections by Matthieu Blazy.
Made from lightweight bouclé, chosen for its softness and durability, and lined in silk for comfort. A balanced piece, combining the familiarity of the classic Chanel jacket with a more fluid, relaxed shape.
