“I first discovered KERN1 through Vogue Hong Kong in 2019. One jacket immediately stayed with me: this pink pastel confetti tweed from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 1994 collection. Playful, lighthearted, and exactly the kind of Chanel piece I love. I messaged Tami, but it had already sold.

So began a search that would take six years. I kept checking in with Tami to ask if she had found another one. She hadn’t. I searched everywhere too, from vintage shops in China to France and the US. I found similar pieces, but they were always too big, too worn, or simply not the one.

And then, suddenly, in April 2026, I saw it in a KERN1 story. It was still available. It was my size. It came with the matching skirt. And it was the exact version I had been searching for, as the pastel confetti sets from 1994 came in slightly different cuts. This was the perfect one. I bought it on the spot.

When it arrived, I opened the parcel and almost cried when I saw it with my own eyes, after all those years staring at pictures of it. I tried it on, and when I looked at myself in the mirror that night, I understood why I had never given up on it. It was worth the wait. I know I will cherish it even more because of it.
